Pennsylvania father, GF charged after girl, 12, dies from 'evil & tormenting' abuse
Chester County, PA — In a heartbreaking story out of Pennsylvania, a father and his girlfriend are facing charges in connection with the death of his 12-year-old daughter.
The Chester County District Attorney announced that Rendell Hoagland and Cindy Warren were arrested on Monday.
The couple faces attempted murder and kidnapping charges in the death of Malinda Hoagland, who the DA describes as having endured "evil and torment."
Police say on Saturday night, officers responded to a 911 call that the 12-year-old was unresponsive.
The DA says the girl was found severely underweight, covered in bruises and had several broken bones.
Investigators say her organs were failing, and she later died at the hospital.
Investigators also found months of home videos, which they say show the girl shackled to furniture in various places throughout the couple's home.
The couple's bail is set at $1 million each.
