Sean Clifford using extra year of eligibility, returning to Penn State for 6th season
State College, PA (WJAC) — Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford will use his extra year of eligibility and return to the Nittany Lions for one final season in 2022.
Clifford, who is a redshirt senior, made the announcement on social media Friday.
According to his Penn State football bio, he is one of 11 Nittany Lions with 5,000 career offensive yards.
Clifford's brother Liam, a receiver, will also be a member of the Nittany Lions in 2022.
Penn State finished the 2021 season with a 7-5 record and fourth in the Big Ten East standings.
The Nittany Lions will travel to Tampa, Florida later this month to face off against Arkansas in the Outback Bowl.
